Why did you start Rebel & the Gypsea?

Rebel & the Gypsea was founded by 2 friends who know each other since elementary school. They spend their whole school career together, even studied at the same University and got the same Master’s degree. Nature inspired them to start with their brand Rebel & the Gyp’sea’. Both women always had a love for fashion and a certain passion for business which helped them to produce the idea of a hat business. Since there are no high-quality, fashion forward and affordable hats in the market that an average individu could afford, we felt we could fill in that gap. The price you pay for our hats is only a fraction of the price you would need to pay at a custom hat maker and the quality is better than you can find in your average multimillion-dollar retailer. Sustainability and supporting a good cause are important values at Rebel & the Gypsea.

What is the mission of Rebel & the Gypsea?

Rebel & the Gypsea’s mission is to inspire our customers on a daily basis and puts a focus on exploring the world with our hat. We want to connect people and the planet we live in. This is important for Rebel & the Gypsea because we have been so disconnecting ourselves from the natural world that it is easy to forget that nature remains as giving as ever, even as it vanishes bit by bit (like the corals we want to safe).

Where are Rebel & the Gypsea’s hats & hat straps produced?

Rebel & the Gypsea hats and hatstraps are hand-made in various places around the world. We make sure the processes are in place with standards that we're proud of. The hats are designed in Belgium and produced in factories around the world, including Asia. Also our creative family helps us to produce unique and custommade hatstraps. Our ‘Hat’quarters are located in Belgium.

Where does Rebel & the Gypsea source materials?

Rebel & the Gypsea hats and hatstraps are sourced from materials around the world. We support sustainable fashion and also reuse fabrics that we come across in Belgium. This all to make sure we form a unique custom made product.




What makes Rebel & the Gypsea hats different?

Our hats have a minimal & timeless design that can be worn with your every day wardrobe every season. Our hats are made for the digital wanderer that isn’t lost but confident living in the moment. You can adjust the look at any time with our wide range in hatstraps and all are hats are one size, fits all. The adjustable strap on the inside of the hat makes sure your hat always fit with any kind of hairstyle. We go above and beyond to make sure we have the best product with 100% wool and use sustainable fabrics. We hope our hats not just become another fashion item, but your most precious accessory that you own. We chose the #hatlifestyle.


Are all prices VAT included?

Yes, all mentioned prices are VAT included.

What are the payment options?

It is possible to pay with: Bancontact, VISA, Mastercard, Belfius Direct Net, KBC/CBC Payment Button, Paypal, iDeal.


Can I choose to ship my order to a different address?

Yes, that's possible. Just enter the details of the desired delivery address at the shipment section during the check-out process. When the order has already been sent, we unfortunately cannot change anything.

What about the shipping costs?

Shipping cost will be calculated during the check-out process on our webshop. For orders above 100 for shipping to Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, the delivery is free.

Can I still change or cancel my order?

You can easily change or cancel your order as long as your order hasn’t been shipped. If you want to change or cancel the order immediately after completing the payment process, we advise you to contact the customer service team to discuss the possibilities via e-mail (rebelandthegypsea@gmail.com) or dm on Instagram. When the order has already been sent, we unfortunately cannot change anything.

The hat I ordered is too big. What can I do?

All of our hats feature an inner adjustable strap that will help you get the perfect fit. Just flip the sweatband to find the Velcro tab, pull the band to tighten until it fits perfectly and finish it off by putting the Velcro back in place! In normal circumstances, our hats are size 56-58 (this matches a size M/L). Thanks to the inner adjustable strap they can be adjusted to a size 51-54 (or XS/S).


When will my order be delivered?

We always try to process and ship orders as soon as possible. Usually orders will be processed the working day following the day of placing the order. The final delivery will take place approximately 5-7 business days after you have received your confirmation. Orders placed over the weekend are handled on Monday (if working day). At peak times (such as sales, major promotions), it should be taken into account that it may take a little longer to process your order. If an order is delivered late we can not take responsibility as unexpected delays do sometimes happen and it is out of our control.

Can an order also be delivered in the evening?

At the moment, evening delivery is unfortunately not possible. If you are not able to accept your package during the day, we advise you to opt for delivery at an alternative address. For example, you can have your package shipped to your work.

Is it possible to receive my package at an alternative address?

That’s possible! Just full in the correct delivery address at the shipment section during the check-out process.

The product I want to order is not in stock anymore. Is it still possible to order this specific product?

Only the products marked as “in stock” on our website are available for sale. Other products will be temporarily or permanently out of stock. If you have any questions, you can always contact our customer service via rebelandthegypsea@gmail.com.


Can I request images in high resolution?

Of course! All of the images shown on our lookbook page are ours. Send us an email with the link to the desired image. We try to process your request as quickly as possible.

Are you open to collaborations, such as a product review or a contest?
